Everyone loves to talk about themselves but only in the light that makes them shine.
When was the last time you were having a conversation with your friend and they were like "I'm a horrible listener, I've been drinking too much, I totally yelled at my friend for no reason." It always seems like it's "Oh I was at this party and this person was there" or "we totally had bottle service all night and didn’t wait in line at the club"
Everyone wants to be important everyone wants to be sought after. We do this because it makes us feel good, it justifies the friends we hang out with, the things we do, the jobs we have.
With the new year happening it seems like everyone knows everything about anything. All these positive mental attitude posts, things about try your hardest, you only have 365 days to make life count. Live your life this way, do this, do that. I'm so exhausted from reading this stuff that it makes me not want to do any of these things. I'll gladly share what has worked for me, but it is by no means a handbook or set way to do things. It's your life.
We dont see failures anymore.
The guy always gets the girl,
the cops always catch the robber,
the princess is rescued by some guy who isn’t a prince but has great characteristics so it works out.
We live in world that seems to have forgotten about the other side.
The one where every day isn't sunny, where you don't get hired for the job you want, where someone breaks up with you for no apparent reason. Real Life. But we beat on like boats against the current. I think thats one the the greatest human traits. The will of the human spirit, the ability to overcome hardships.
Just know that everyone goes through exactly what you go through. We're all in this together, one day at a time, one foot in front of the other.
